Between the added horsepower a fully functioning Carb gave it plus the intake and all approx 18 horse when you switch to high rise...

14-18 Then add the new carb in there at 850 cfi and your adding ssome torque...

With the addition to this is what they did to the air breather...

So we set out to correct this... and well hang on before I get too far ahead of my story line...

So here is the hatchet job on the existing air bowl for the filter...

Seems to them cutting access for the carb linkages was a better option than buying a shaker set up for the pontiac engine...

or the olds respectively they are different and they fit the car different...

They took the Olds 403 out and installed a Pontiac 400 in its place but they wanted to reuse the Old shaker bowl assembly they could have bought the bottom portion of the bowl for around 100 bucks or so... and had the best of both or either... Idiots...

So the first thing I did was say were making this bird 100% cold air suction not forced intake...

So I plug welded the PVC valve hole closed knocked off the spout to the front right fender chopped off the bracket inside for the filter and welded that to cover the hole from the old snorkel tube...

Then i purchased a Holley Chrome base and filter tossed the filter (well gave it away and the chrome cover) and then continued to fabricate the assembly as shown...:)

As you can see that section turned out great...

Then I removed the main air block...in the shaker itself leaving the divider Center...

Added a couple 6" Red LED Stripes...

Ok then I noticed where it was hitting the hood in the past and had a few minor chips so I trimmed it in black since it hides so much well...

I added the Honeycomb mesh inside to add aesthetics...

Painted it gold for flare and rocked that shit to a switched Park light wire from driver side left blinker park light...

I went over the gold a few times with a tiny brush and some real Gold paint so it would get the brilliance and glimmer under sunlight a tad...

I also did the side gills on fenders...

I also did approx three coats each...side that was one coat at that time...

Ill start one for the Gold and rims and Trim now...
