  1. As you can see that section turned out great... Then I removed the main air block...in the shaker itself leaving the divider Center... Added a couple 6" Red LED Stripes... Ok then I noticed where it was hitting the hood in the past and had a few minor chips so I trimmed it in black since it hides so much well... I added the Honeycomb mesh inside to add aesthetics... Painted it gold for flare and rocked that shit to a switched Park light wire from driver side left blinker park light...
  2. Seems to them cutting access for the carb linkages was a better option than buying a shaker set up for the pontiac engine... or the olds respectively they are different and they fit the car different... They took the Olds 403 out and installed a Pontiac 400 in its place but they wanted to reuse the Old shaker bowl assembly they could have bought the bottom portion of the bowl for around 100 bucks or so... and had the best of both or either... Idiots... So the first thing I did was say were making this bird 100% cold air suction not forced intake... So I plug welded the PVC valve hole closed knocked off the spout to the front right fender chopped off the bracket inside for the filter and welded that to cover the hole from the old snorkel tube... Then i purchased a Holley Chrome base and filter tossed the filter (well gave it away and the chrome cover) and then continued to fabricate the assembly as shown...:)
  3. Between the added horsepower a fully functioning Carb gave it plus the intake and all approx 18 horse when you switch to high rise... 14-18 Then add the new carb in there at 850 cfi and your adding ssome torque... With the addition to this is what they did to the air breather... So we set out to correct this... and well hang on before I get too far ahead of my story line... So here is the hatchet job on the existing air bowl for the filter...
  4. the old guys who claimed they were ASE Mechanics Who clearly were anything but... Ill explain later... Anyhow so I dressed what I had up and noticed things like wire brush marks on the chrome valve covers and thought what an idiot... But wait there is so much more...
  5. You will see some things I have done to all or both of my modified daily drivers... I will drive this TA for months to work daily... Love it...:) I also drove Lucille for 4 yrs as I built her up to where she is currently... You will notice things like underglows I removed later but you will see them... You also will see the rock lights on Lucille and hood vents lit in red and see that on the TA where I did it many yrs ago first... You will notice I always take out the dash and radios and improve them drastically in all the vehicles I drive to date the only one I havent touched yet is my JL and its great stock they have come leaps and bounds from the days of am radio on a single dash speaker... that would always dry rot from sun and sound like shit... anyhow enjoy the transformation...
  6. Here is the day I picked her up... 79 original was 403 Olds they replaced with 400 pontiac that was shit... They also hacked the Air filter bowl and were bypassing the breather completely, idiots trashed a Pontiac motor... and much so much more... Anyway this is step one of what and how I did what I do... Hobby #1 My love for 79-81 Trans ams Big Block 455 bored out to max permitted 469 CI... instead of 6.6 liter its now a 7.7 but for this day... It was square one... First thing that needs to go are the tires...
  7. I ended up wheeling alone after 7 drivers changed their minds after I drove 5 hours each way so I decided I was doing these... I did seven trails through the course of the day. From first bell... until dark... Track bar bracket broke...Steering stabilizer is all that kept the jeep drive-able and with 11-1 steering.....lol Got it welded for 125.00 that same night... Drove back the next day without issue... This park was still one of the most challenging for me alone other than Cliffhanger... and I enjoyed playing in mud at 55 plus yea... I usually hate it but it was such a shit day I just owned the fact everything was about to be a muddy mess and went with it... I had to washed the jeep 5 times to get it to stop raining mud in some places... I had to remove the tops and everything and wipe all the rubbers down and the seams so things would seal again... man that grit got into some places... I ran 51 in like 10 minutes flat and its 2 miles... through the woods and I stopped like three times to snap some pics... LOL
